Enjoyed the fellows, shooting and new facilities. When the rain came, no one got wet. I cooked this time, guess all that practice cooking while camping came in handy. I had loaded some ammo Friday morning early to beat the heat in my shop and was a little more pleased with the results. After talking to Mr. Allan, I have one more thing to try…[Read more]

At 3 MPH, the wind was not a big factor this month. It finally got up to 7-8 by noon. Shoot with your no wind zero and hold over, makes you focus a little better on where the cross hairs are. Over guessed it a few times and 9’s result. All those years of shooting 168’s, I sometimes forget the 200’s buck the wind a lot better.
Invite your…[Read more] -

Great news on the new construction.
Do you need some more of those big numbers for the targets?
Shasta and I are in Gulf State Park for a week, I am sure shopping will be on the agenda this week. I will try not to poke my eye out before the next match like I did the last time. -

Had a good day at Reese Bottom yesterday. The wind was the equalizer this time. Never saw conditions before at Reese Bottom this unusual. Wind normally has a pattern to it. Not so much yesterday as it could go 180 in a matter of seconds. If you sucked on the shot too long, you chanced getting a surprise when you looked up to see the flag…[Read more]

Michael Claunch replied to the topic Saturday Fun Shooting ????? in the forum Reese Bottom Chat Room 6 years, 5 months ago
Very good results at Reese Bottom this morning. Several shooters got to experience the new ShotMarker targets. Fast feedback and accurate. One trip down range to set up targets and one to retrieve the sensors and put targets back in shed when the match is over. No Pit duty. that will be nice when the weather gets Hot!. Wynne has plans to…[Read more]

If you notice the target is high in the frame, but for a reason. By aiming at the physical target and dropping your 600 yard dope 1 1/2 to 2 mils you will center your hits on the virtual target shown on the tablet you see at the firing line.
Nothing new here, back when I shot m14’s I used the 6 o’clock hold. In other words, I was placing the…[Read more] -

Thank you for letting me help. Guys, Wynne shot a group at 600 and the measurement from shotmarker matches the result on paper. Gives you a lot of instant feedback. Besides shot placement, your FPS at the target is displayed too! We still need a few more shooters for the third weekend. I got to shoot a few rounds and mine are getting there…[Read more]

Wynne, Tell the guys if for some reason the private message options does not come up when right clicking on someone’s avatar, you may need to log back on even if your avatar is showing up in the on-line window. Not sure what happened, but logging back in again will fix the problem. Headed to church in a minute, hope this helps.

Had a great time at Reese Bottom this morning.
Sorry I had to be the one holding up my relay for 2 extra minutes while I checked my zero at 100 yards. Three shots and I was back in business. I had some trouble Wed at practice and as a result I slid my scope back 3/4 of an inch. I kept reaching for the scope and decided it was time to do…[Read more] -

Not that one will be needed till the weather warms up, but I have ordered some “slats” and Velcro to make a mirage shield for my FTR. Have looked at a lot of pictures online.
Questions:
Curve UP or DOWN? Some have the curve up and some down, make much difference:Length? How far back under the scope is best and how far does it need to…[Read more]

Should have posted this already. Got my new FTR 308 awhile back. Looks great, been busy so I pulled it out today to tighten the scope down and tinker with it. Still need to get a good rear bag and load some ammo. I did get the Hornady OAL tool out and after nearly an hour finally found out why I kept getting inconsistent results. Evidently…[Read more]

Talked with Brit Jones this week, my FTR is coming together.
The action and barrel are already in with the stock coming in October.
Maybe I will get to shoot with it at the prone match in November.Michael Claunch
