As much as I love shooting, I will not be there unless the virus abates. Shasta is at her mothers today. We have been staying at home to avoid the virus. Shasta’s mother is 89 and it could be a death sentence for her. My 89 year old mother self quarantined two weeks ago, so she should be ok. The only good thing is I have been catching up on…[Read more]

Wynne, take me off the list for this month.
Shasta is one of the caregivers for her 89 year old mother and I do not want to risk
bringing anything home.
See you next month. -

The wind was as wild as most of us have seen it at Reese Bottom today. I was not the only one to have a 10 or X in the sight period and then see a 6 pop up at nine o’clock and see no visible change in the mirage. Bear in mind we were shooting Bench Rest targets, so that 1 minute of angle movement wound up in the 6 ring. I think dividing and…[Read more]

Enjoyed working in the rain with you yesterday. The lights should help some of us with old eyes that have been using flashlights to see the adjustments on our scopes.
I can bring my Honda 2000 for a backup if yours is on the fritz. -

Sorry, the targets that are printed are the 1000 yard targets. Still using paper for the 600 yard.

A lot of improvements have been made at Reese Bottom this year. E targets at 600 yards and now 1000 yards, the new Shed, and the rock driveway at the top of the list. Thanks Wynne! Most of you did not know that the target you saw at 1000 was a printed target and weatherproof. One side has the F class 600 target and the backside has the…[Read more]

A little cool to start, but warmed up later. I let the last target do me in. The wind switched hard a few times and I think I over did it with the favors at least twice. Glad to see I think 20 shooters who braved the cool weather. Watching from the back, I saw almost everyone start out low due to the lower temps.
I believe all are excited…[Read more] -

Looks like everyone had a good day. Shasta and I are back from Hiawassee, GA. Had a good time seeing music shows and Shasta’s favorite, going to antique shops. Not enough flat land up there for a decent shooting range. I did find some CCI BR2 primers while we were gone, I was going to have to pay the hazmat fee by ordering off the web.

It was good to see Britt Jones at the match. I haven’t seen him since I picked up my rifle just before this season of shooting. I believe several of the rifles on the line are his work. The match went well with only a couple of incidents. A couple cross fires, one bullet pulled out and dumped the powder load into the chamber, and I had a case…[Read more]

I came close to shooting a 200 this match. A 199 and I know why the 9 happened. I had been having trouble with the mirage and was shooting above the X ring, so I tried to aim at the bottom of the X ring thinking it would center up. Wrong!, shot a little lower than that. Conditions were ideal, as far as the wind goes. What little it changed,…[Read more]
