Wynne, it has been a while. I am planning on coming over for the 15th, if I can make it home in time. As of right now I think there is a total of six guys from Wayne Co. coming.

Gilley and Burkart are correct! If you anneal the case necks will expand when the heat is applied. I always bump/size after annealing. Gilley, set your die to bump .001” every time and life will be easy for you. Then again, don’t and some of us lesser shooters can win!
Wynne,
I’ll try to make it Saturday. I’ve got to go back out to Houston…[Read more] -

Dan,
I don’t think that a bump or NK size will give you a difference on the target during load work. It will affect your group during a match, due to wresting w/ the rifle between shots. The common practice in LR BR is to bump .001-.002” to avoid the wrestling/ disrupting the rifle on the bags. Short Range boys are watching daisy wheels and fla…[Read more] -

There were comments at the range as to how well Brady handles a rifle. I appreciate the comments. Attached are a few photos of him pulling the trigger. 2 pics of him fireforming brass for me and 1 picture of him shooting at 1,000 yards for the first time, age 5. I did start him young.

Al,
There is nothing wrong w/ questioning anything that you read on the www. But your question asked for the seater die (don’t take that line the wrong way). In my opinion the seater is an after fact for making straight rounds. Your sizer will begin the process of a canted round. Yours may not, they may be perfectly straight! I spoke to Wynne a…[Read more] -

I’ll tell you this; I don’t know how to shoot the wind/mirage! I’d like to learn. I’ve got a buddy here from Wayne Co. that has put the time in and has got it down pat. #3 in the IBS 1K Shooter of the Year rankings for 2014 and will possibly win it all.
There are two schools of thought the BR world, Pickers or Runners. I am a Runner! I know no…[Read more] -

Al,
For my Heavy Gun (.300 Atlas) I use an RCBS 7/8- 14 custom microtop seater.
My son’s Dasher I use a Neil Jones microtop hand die w/ Arbor press. This is a bushing die. .265” bushing, .266” chamber and a .264” loaded round.
The best seater in my opinion is the Newlon Microtopped seater. http://www.newlonprecision.com/ with a Mitutoyo microme…[Read more] -

Al, you are welcome. Hopefully you can find a load for the Hybrids. The reason I said 2 round groups, was if it will not do it in 2, it damn show want in 5. Good luck!

I am going to try some .30 cal 230 gr. Hybrids this next week in my Heavy Gun at .015” jump to see what the HG will do. I’ve got some brand new brass, so I’ll be running 5 shot groups. Box says 10 twist or faster, we’ll see if the 11 twist will spin them fast enough.

Al,
I have not played w/ the Hybrids much to date. I will work a load up for my Son’s Dasher over the next does not matter. The theory is that you can start out shooting .015” jump and as the throat erodes you do not have to chase the throat. .015”-.060” jump. http://…[Read more] -

3) What do hybrids like to do?
Bryan Litz says to start at .015” jump with the Hybrids4) What is your technique for determining “touch” or CBTO (combined overall length cartridge case base to ogive)?
1. Seat the desired bullet long.
2. Chamber it.
3. Eject it and look for square land marks.
4. Seat the.005” deeper and remove the landmar…[Read more] -

Does anybody know why the tab section on my screen is listed in a vertical fashion, instead of horizontal? On my laptop the screen is 90% covered. On my docking station it covers 55%.
