I would like to announce the first ever West Alabama Long-Range Championship to be held at Reese Bottom in September. It will be a two-day event held on Saturday September 19 and Sunday September 20. Plans are to shoot three twenty shot relays on Saturday and two twenty shot relays on Sunday morning. For the Open and FTR divisions the Sunday relays will be pair fire to allow the participants to be eligible to qualify for V2 points. We will include a bench division and their Sunday relays will be shot as usual from the bench. Food and drinks will be supplied, and we plan to have a good prize table. Registration will open on Sunday night August 16 at 7:00 pm. Entry fee will be $100 per shooter, and all proceeds will be paid out in food, winnings, and prizes. We will take a maximum of thirty[30] good shooters for this event. I will hold five[5] of these spots for bench shooters, eight[8] spots for FTR, and seventeen[17] spots for open shooters until Wednesday night August 19 at 7:00 pm. If there are still spots available in the bench or ftr divisions at this time they can be claimed by open shooters. I will pin this topic to the top and we can talk more about this between now and then. I am excited about this opportunity, and it is something that I have wanted to do for some time. Just a reminder that registration for the Alabama Long Range Championship opens at 7:00 pm on Sunday night August 16, 2026. A lot of the details are in the topic above. I will have a lot more to say in the days to come. Please do not confuse this with the registration for the August Mid-Range Prone match to be shot the day before. WWE

My hope is that many of you good shooters are as excited about this opportunity as I am. Remember, this is a first for me so please offer patience. I will be posting over the coming days as things come to mind. For those traveling from a distance, I would recommend that you get reservations at a motel in Demopolis, Al. They are all within thirty minutes of the range. If anyone were to be traveling in a motor home, you are welcome to stay on site but there are no hookups.
The $100 entry fee will take care of everything. Please bring cash, Reese Bottom is primitive. I will have some biscuits both mornings and plans are to grill something for lunch on Saturday. We are not going to require our good shooters to prepay. Payment can be made Friday after lunch or beforehand Saturday morning. Plans are to have a couple of targets available Friday afternoon from say 1:00 until!!
Hopefully we will have a few t-shirts and sweatshirts for sale. Plans are to have a nice prize table, and I would like to have a buy/sale table. Please, I will be the only person allowed to clean out their reloading room. Until next time. WWE
