I see what you mean by convertible now. Roland is right, we do not convert a sight in shot to a score. A shooter’s score sheet allows the scorer to keep up with sighters and I noticed that the shooters all turned to their scorer and made the scorer aware that the shooter was going to record score. Also, once the shooter starts their record fire,…[Read more]

Tony, For the last prone match we allowed 7 sighters for the first relay, and 2 each for the next two relays. Did not seem to be a problem. Not sure what convertible means. We did have one or two shooters that had problems with their zero and as always, we tried to be lenient.

How did you settle on the caliber of your favorite bench rest rifle. The .223 is the first rifle my dad bought for me 50 plus years ago. It was a 700 model Remington .222 that has been re chambered in .223. Lots of memories with this firearm and lots of satisfaction seeing it compete. I was actually running from recoil when I selected the…[Read more]

Shooters could help shooters if the shooter in need would go on one of these open forums and post a ‘WTB’ item and other shooters that might be aware of the product’s availability send the needy shooter a private message of the product’s where a bouts. I shoot for the same reasons that I played golf. I try to beat myself. I have no problem with you out shooting me, I just want to make sure that you have to shoot well to come out on top. One of my fondest memories of a recent match was the month that Britt beat my agg by such a small margin that we agreed to go back and re measure. He won…[Read more]

Lukas, please read the post above “attaching a photo to a post” If that does not help you, then please send me an email or call. This website will not accept a photo file over 1300kb and most SLR type cameras create photo files much larger than that. If you need more help, give me a holler. WWE

Wynne Echols started the topic A Sizing Brass Question in the forum Reese Bottom Chat Room 11 years, 8 months ago
I stumbled across an article online today that suggested that a brass case, while being re sized, will take the shape of the inside of the die and if not done properly will experience a certain amount of spring back which could lead to such things as inconsistent neck tension and shoulder bump. The article suggested that rather than using a…[Read more]

Has anyone on the forum had any experience with an electronic powder trickler? I was wondering how dependable they are. Also, how do they compare to the manual trickler? Thanks, WWE

Gary, Have you determined how many rounds down the tube before the carbon ring begins to affect accuracy? Seems to me, that for those fortunate enough to have a bore scope, it would be simpler to trim the cases a little shorter and not have to worry about trimming after every shooting. Does this long length require you to have to trim after…[Read more]

Good stuff guys. I must admit that I have fudged a little and slipped up and down the bench rest line and peeped through other shooter’s rifle scopes. I noticed that many of the other shooter’s scopes do not line up with my eye. For the scope owner or the peeper, wouldn’t the rifle end up being canted? Will an accurate rifle allow for any cant…[Read more]

Gary, I learned something tonight. Thanks for sharing. I never had noticed the flat area on the bottom of a rifle scope. I had to see for myself. I am attaching a photo of the mentioned area although this scope is atop a little hunting rifle with split mounts and a very wide gap. I can see where this would work well on a one piece rail.…[Read more]

Brent, I noticed that you maybe tried to upload a photo. If you have not already, read the topic ‘how to attach a photo’. One forum member misunderstood what I was trying to say about reducing the size of the photo file. If you use the method described, reduce the size for 100% to 20%, not by 20% which leaves the file size at 80% of the…[Read more]

We received an email this morning asking how to attach a photo to a post for an item for sale. Chat post will also accept attachments. Here is the process as I understand it. This process works on a PC, a MAC would be different and I cannot be much help. Take an up close photo and get that photo transferred or copy/paste from your camera card…[Read more]

Gunny, I also have a Tumlers Tumbler that I use on occasion as well as a Lyman vibrating tumbler with walnut media. As for the Tumler’s product, I have heard it suggested that the tumbler was rough on the brass but does a good job cleaning. I would suggest filling the drum full of water, not half full, to keep the brass from beating itself to…[Read more]
