That’s great Kenneth! Nothing better than tuning at the range and getting in some practice. I don’t know why more ppl don’t take advantage of it. I realize some people have limitations and that’s understandable but practice makes everyone better. Look forward to seeing next month.

Barry Holcomb replied to the topic February match report from bench #1 in the forum Reese Bottom Chat Room 1 month, 4 weeks ago
As always, it’s great to be back shooting at the bottom. After spending a week at swn, it was nice to shoot a match with a relaxed atmosphere and just have fun. Personally, I had a lot of vertical and pretty sure that was due to my seating depth being off. A few tweaks on the tuner and it seemed to tighten up every match but I need to figure out h…[Read more]

Haven’t been much myself and all I’ve seen is a few does and small bucks. Waiting on a good one, our rut is in full swing. I know central and south Alabama are a month out. Hope everyone is doing well and had a great Thanksgiving!

Just looking for some feedback on whether you did or didn’t like the v2 part of the match if you shot it? Tell me about the good and the bad, was it challenging? Boring? Would you want to shoot more matches like that?
Personally, I love shooting pair fire, it makes you pay attention and make bold calls sometimes and no one is out of it until t…[Read more] -

Barry Holcomb replied to the topic Is Magnification a True Friend ? in the forum Reese Bottom Chat Room 8 months ago
Kipp, I’d recommend the vortex razor gen 1 85mm objective lens with a 23x Ler eyepiece. The kowa 882sv with a ler eyepiece.

I prefer as much magnification as possible with an equal amount of clarity. I do have a hard time holding point of aim when I get down to 30x but sometimes it’s necessary.
I think finding the correct mirage at distance with the spotting scope is beneficial.
Mirage is just hard to shoot in and experience seems to be the roughest but most effective teacher -

Mr. Richard, I’m glad you found the culprit! I hate that can happen to you at times because it would definitely cause an issue.

I’d say on first relay it should be as clear as it’s going to get. Might be worth adjusting your scope every match to get it as clear as possible. Mr. Richard, do you adjust the eyepiece to get your crosshairs crisp? Mine had somehow gotten out of focus, I guess the lock ring came loose and it was fuzzy at 100yds so I had to readjust and then loc…[Read more]

It seems like there’s always a little something going on down range to make you shoot one out the right, left, down, up. Just curious if you like to watch a flag? Mirage? Maybe just chase the spotter? For me, during the match, I noticed the 2nd flag on the right would droop and if I didn’t come in at least a ring it would shoot it up wind. Luc…[Read more]
