Just a short reminder that on Saturday June 21, 2014, there will be a benchrest match at Reese Bottom. We will start registering at 8am, draw for positions, and hopefully be shooting by 9am. $10 per gun and a shooter can shoot up to two guns. We plan to shoot the usual three divisions plus the hunting class. All fees paid to winners and also…[Read more]

I would like to begin by saying what a wonderful time I had yesterday going on a road trip with Dan and Addison Gunter. We went shooting and on the way home Addison says “I like Reese Bottom”. I think that tells about the results but we all vowed to regroup and go again. Those Gunter boy know how to do some shopping when they get out of…[Read more]

Wynne Echols started the topic Are Your Reloads Heat Sensitive!!! in the forum Reese Bottom Chat Room 12 years, 2 months ago
I would love to hear from many of you about your experience with your reloads and their reaction to a temperature change. Do you shoot the same load year round or do you adjust for temperature? Do you do your load development at a certain temperature and the adjust your load as the temperature rises or falls? If so how much? Thanks, WWE

Please, do not let any of this discourage anyone from attending the next F Class match at Reese Bottom. Received a new Seb Joy-Pod F Class front rest for the .223 this week. I had seven rounds left in the box from last month’s prone match so I took all of the stuff to the range Saturday morning to try it out. (picture included) Put a target up…[Read more]

For those of you good shooters that do not appreciate the calm conditions at Reese Bottom, check out today’s results from PA. Several of these guys are forum members. They shoot a little farther than we do and shoot ten shot groups, but many will normally shoot 4, 5, and 6 inch groups. I understand that there was a 20 mph cross wind today.…[Read more]

Wynne Echols replied to the topic 1st step after cleaning barrel ???? in the forum Reese Bottom Chat Room 12 years, 2 months ago
I have actually watched this with a chrony four or five times and my BR settles down after the sixth shot. That being said, I would say ‘ten’ is a good safe number. Looking at the two groups, I would tend to believe the vertical was a velocity thing??? As someone mentioned above, more testing would probably answer the questions.

I would like to ask Santa for the perfect 600 yard F-T-R .308 rifle. Would like for this rifle to shoot 168 gn MK’s but could be talked into a different bullet. Forum members, please add one piece to the build until the rifle is complete with rest and everything needed to shoot a hole in the ‘X’ ring. Different opinions are appreciated!!! WWE

A great little tool for dressing up the inside of the brass cartridge necks. Simply a caliber specific brass bore brush with 0000 steel wool spun into the bristles.
