I tried to get the 600 yard targets ready today between rain showers. Be sure and check out the two photos. The plates are approx. 15′ in front of and 2′ below the bottom paper target. Al, I like Dennis do not have a lot of experience in shooting from the prone position. I really struggled with my set up the first three or four prone matches. My last two prone matches have been shot using the Seb Joy Pod and I am satisfied that I have noticed improvement. For me, the wider platform is basically cheating as compared to the…[Read more]

Now that makes a little more sense. Question, has the club taken extra measures to make sure the backers are level? That might be something that we could do to refresh Reese Bottom. As all of you good shooters know by now, the October match will be a four target bench rest match shot at 600 yards with a pit service. Before the shooter is allowed to shoot at their sight in target, there will be a timed fouler shot period shooting at 10″ steel plates. Well Dan, that is an honorable gesture. I’m sure others will help grow the ‘gunny pot’. My hope is that this will be our most attended bench rest match this year. Going forward, all unruly shooters will be bound and hauled to the backside of the farm and used as gator bait. Believe it or not, the hog photo and the gator photo were taken within 100 yards of each other. The range at Reese Bottom is the entrance to a wildlife zoo. WWE

5 shots @ 4 targets @ 600 yards
each shooter will go to the bench twice; two record targets per trip.
unlimited timed fouler shots before each record target
We are hoping the shooters will get very good dope[small groups & high scores]
