Well, after a two month layoff, the start of the 2017 shooting season at Reese Bottom is less than two weeks away. Please be advised that the February match will be a benchrest match shooting thirty shots for record, 5 and 10 @ 400 yards and 5 and 10 @ 500 yards. Robert Mc Michael called yesterday to tell me that the Bar 3 Range in Laurel, MS. has been approved by the IBS to hold sanctioned 1000 yard matches this year. Visited Reese Bottom this afternoon and it appears that things survived the 5 plus inches of rain this past weekend. Trash can overturned and trash is everywhere and the wooden table’s pad washed badly. The pink chairs are scattered down through the woods. All in all we were very lucky compared to many in the area. Well, I have purchased a stock with a 5″ foreend and it will not fit in a Plano Air Rifle Case. Seems that Gunny used to have some bigger alum. cases that probably had more storage room. Anybody have one they want to get rid of or know where a fellow might purchase one? Thanks, WWE

Friendly reminder, hunting season is scheduled to come in here on Saturday. Parts of the farm are leased for hunting so I ask that there be no shooting before the match.

Steve, My guess is that the matches would be sanctioned by the IBS and that shooters would be required to be IBS members. Robert told me that they would probably shoot four matches in a weekend[probably the 1st weekend of the month] Two on Saturday and two on Sunday.
