Ben, the wife will love the 6BR after shooting that rifle of yours. I am pretty sure that I started out 4 or 5 years ago with the same rifle. I never got use to the trigger and soon replaced it with a rifle basic trigger. I own 2 dashers but would highly recommend that you leave it a BR unless you plan to make a living shooting 1000 yards. Forgot to mention. Four good shooters squared off today in a winner take all 50 yard .22 LR match. One of the fellows old vintage Anschutz just refuses to shoot a 9. Talked about doing it again, maybe in August. Photos, please.

Forgot to mention. Four good shooters squared off today in a winner take all 50 yard .22 LR match. One of the fellows old vintage Anschutz just refuses to shoot a 9. Talked about doing it again, maybe in August. Photos, please.

Reese Bottom witnessed a rain shower on Friday afternoon, but we should be good to go by Saturday morning. The mud will be a little sticky, so you might wear your rubber boots. Don’t forget the .22 lr match following the regular match. WWE

I am satisfied that the new computer program worked as planned last month, so we will plan to crown the division winners using the overall method. How many places we pay will depend on the number of shooters in the division. Anyone with questions, please ask. Thanks, WWE

Sorry to be so late with this, but I am waiting on results from a medical exam that I recently had. Still waiting, so we will go ahead and plan the shoot. At the last match, the shooters agreed that they wanted to shoot 5 @ 200, 5 @ 300, 5 @ 400, and 5 @ 500 plus fouler shots at each distance. I ran across some more impressive results from this past weekend Cool Acres Shooting Camp. I actually shot with most of these guys back in January. They shoot 4 matches over a weekend, 4 light gun and 4 heavy gun. The light guns shoot 5 shot targets and the heavy guns shoot 10 shot targets. All at 1000 yards. Looking over the results this morning, I notice that a couple of scores on the mechanical 500 yard targets got reversed. They are correct, but in the wrong column, and should not change the totals at all. There are a couple of blanks in some ‘X’ columns which should have been ‘0’. For information purposes only: targets 401 and 501 were 5 shot targets and targets 402 and 502 were 10 shot targets. Also, the new overall scoring system gives more weight to the group size than it does to the score total.

Thanks to the fourteen good shooters who came to the May match this morning. It was nice having two youth shooters today. They got to witness a Reese Bottom first. Reese Bottom got a hair cut today. It has finally dried up enough to get on the range with the tractor and bush hog. On Saturday May 21, 2016, Reese Bottom will host a 30 shot bench rest match. Shooters will shoot a 5 shot target at 400 yards, then a 10 shot target at 400 yards, then move to 500 yards and shoot a 5 shot target and then a 10 shot target. Allen, it is truly amazing how well people are now shooting. Five years ago, a 4+ group would have been competitive at 500 yards, but not anymore. Glad to hear that your weather is now allowing you good shooters to get to the range. Rain has been a problem around here.
