  • Mr. Al, I suggest that you watch the new video up on the home page. This subject is actually mentioned. I now have two dashers and they do not appear to be kin to one another. The older rifle has 500+ rounds through it and the new rifle has 5 clean and shoot rounds down the barrel. A very light load in the older rifle showed pressure signs in…[Read more]

  • We checked the game cameras this morning and figured out why our guest came up empty in the deer category. We have all heard that ‘you can’t catch a fish if your hook is not in the water’ The two photos below were back to back taken by the same game camera(see time on camera). I had promised Mr. Gardner that I would have breakfast ready when he…[Read more]

  • Several days ago, a guy masked as Unkie716 posted a topic on another forum trying to spread the good news about Reese Bottom. The topic has been view over 400 times, which I think is pretty good advertising for Reese Bottom. The size of our facility limits our ability to grow, but I believe that we still have a little wiggle room. My hope is…[Read more]

  • David Gardner, whom I met two years ago at the World Open, spent the last week in Alabama hunting and shooting at Reese Bottom. Today he is north of Roanoke, VA. trying to get home in the blizzard. The photo below shows David explaining a few things to my military nephew. Jason had only shot military weapons and was amazed at the difference.…[Read more]

  • Mr. David Gardner of Pennsylvania1000Yard fame spent the last week scouting the lands around Reese Bottom. Although he did not shoot a buck, he killed two big hogs, trapped two coons, and the two of us got to visit with a long tail cat. For those familiar with Reese Bottom, the big boar pictured was killed approx. 300 yards to the right of the…[Read more]

  • Al, the Panda is a flat bottomed action that came with no recoil lug. Britt milled a groove in the bottom and put a lug in the groove and rebedded the action. I assume the action screws can only hold so much. Seems to work fine. WWE

  • Al, we hope all is well with you. Here is what I do. Not saying good or bad, just what I do. My rifle was chambered as a BR before we re barreled it as a dasher so I already had a bunch of BR stuff. I knock the primers out with a BR die with the pin run way out so nothing touches. Do whatever work that I plan to do with the brass this…[Read more]

  • Thomas, attach the photo to an email. I will also need the specs(see home page) Thanks, WWE

  • I am going to go ahead and announce the first match of 2015 and I have updated the ‘Events’ page so go there to see this year’s schedule. I gathered from our little poll that the 3rd weekend works okay for most folks. The first match of 2015 at Reese Bottom will be a benchrest match held on Saturday February 21, 2015. We will begin registering…[Read more]

  • Is there anyone out there doing any shooting? Been about a month for me. I have read about several new products for this year. Lapua is said to be coming with a dasher brass and I read where Sierra is coming with some pointed bullets. Anybody tried these? Who got something new and exciting for Christmas? I have spent some time getting my…[Read more]

  • Does anyone care to have their rifle shown as the ‘Gun of the Month’ I have done nothing in January but would like to get back going in February. I would need a close up photo and and listing of the components. If anyone would be willing, I will put it all together. Hope to hear from some of you. WWE

  • Jim, I had another thought. The first firing I used my normal BR load, 30.1 Varget. The second firing, after the shoulder blew forward, I just guessed at 32 gn Varget. Looking back, maybe a little more powder on the second firing would have better formed the shoulder. WWE

  • Jim, good to hear from you and we hope that all is well. As you know, I had a 6mmBR that Britt re barreled as a dasher. He and I discussed the different methods and I read some about each method. I elected to seat the bullet long and see what happened. To begin with, Britt re chambered my old BR barrel with the dasher reamer and I used the old…[Read more]

  • Well, the Mrs. has undecorated the house so that must mean that this year’s Christmas season is over. Our wish is that Santa filled your stockings with lots of powder and bullets. I have made the best of a rainy day in west Alabama. Thanks to the wet weather today, I now have 100 pieces of ready to prime dasher brass and 100 pieces of ready to…[Read more]
