Please be advised that at 9:00 on Wednesday night August 19, 2026, we have 25 prone shooters registered for the match next month. Eighteen in the open division and seven in the ftr division. Unless someone cancels, all prone positions are spoken for. At this time we have four good shooters registered in the bench division. There is room for one more. The four good shooters already registered are shooting fclass stuff but as far as I am concerned there are no limitations, either equipment wise or physical wise. We hope to fill the spot by Sunday night September 6 at 7:00 pm. As for those already registered, if anything comes up and you have to drop out, please notify me as soon as possible. My wish is that all thirty spots will have shooters. To be fair with me trying to find a replacement, please, please make the call before Sunday night September 13, 2026. Having only five targets really dictates what can happen. If there is a good shooter that is out there and would like to get in if we have a cancelation, please register after this post and we will notify you if anything comes up. Thanks for all that registered. Should be a fun, competitive match. Just realized that we are one month out. I intend to start another topic in the next day are so to discuss things leading up to the event. This is the only way that I have of communicating with everyone so please check by every couple of days to see if anything has changed. WWE

Sunday night, September 6, 2026 at 9:00 pm. One of our good shooters has had to vacate his spot in the open division. Mr. Craig Martin has flipped this spot to the FTR division. At this time, we only have the one bench spot still available. My hope is that some one of you good shooters will encourage someone to fill this slot. We had said initially that we were closing registration tonight, but it would not be any trouble to add someone to this spot.
We have rebuilt the target stands at 1000 yards. Click the photo below for a sneak preview. Notice that we moved the target numbers. A mystery shooter shot the #1 target yesterday morning and things worked as planned. The Shotmarker virtual X is 30″ below the point of aim paper target. For everyone that has their 1000-yard number, take out 3 moa and you should be close. Use the day before or the sight in period to fine tune. We run the target wiring across the top of the stand so low is better than high.
A little info for the good shooters that have never shot at Reese Bottom before. The 1000-yard targets are within inches of an actual 1000 yards. You will be shooting from East toward the West. The sun will come up behind you. North will be 3:00 o’clock and South will be 9:00 o’clock. There will be wind flags at 250 yards, 425 yards, 550 yards, 750 yards, and at the targets[new]. According to the altimeter the firing line is 88′ above sea level and the target ‘X’ is 136′ above sea level, or roughly a 50′ rise, whatever that means. For those interested in altitude density and such, do your own research. lol WWE

If you would like to spend it before you win it, here are the cash pay outs that are planned for the match. Plans are to break it up to where no one leaves wealthy. In the case of a tie, the funds will be split equally.
1. The three division leaders after day one = $100 each.
2. Gunny Pot in each division [most “Xs”] match total = $10 per division shooter
3. Each division’s winners will receive a part of $40 per division shooter. Appears the bench will split $200 three ways, FTR will split $320 three ways, and the Open division will split $680 four ways. 1st, 2nd, 3rd in open and ftr get trophies and 1st bench gets the trophy and 2nd and 3rd get pins.
4. We are shaping up to have a wonderful prize table. Everyone leaves with something. Some with more than others. We will soon list the contributors to the prize table in hopes that everyone will consider supporting these fine people.
5. Please remember the Buy/Sale table. I have a couple of mystery items that need a new home. Load ’em up fellows, we are just two weeks from burning powder. WWE -
Wednesday September 9, 2026. Good shooters, I have had a prone shooter to withdraw his registration opening a prone position. It can be fill in either the open or ftr division if any of you know of someone wanting to shoot. At this time, I do not have anyone on a waiting list. We still have the bench spot also. WWE

We still have three prone positions unclaimed as of Tuesday afternoon. I would like to close the registration Thursday night at 7:00 pm so that I can get the event built in the Shotmarker software. If there is anyone out there sitting on the fence, please encourage them to come join us. Looking forward to a fun, competitive weekend and meeting the several first-time shooters at Reese Bottom.
