This another hot topic I’ve seen discussed with multiple different answers
Shooting a Squeeky clean/ dry barrel will lead to copper build up!
I normally try to shoot a few fouler shots after cleaning before match day
And tried it both ways dry and wet using a few different things to lubricant the barrel before that 1st. Fouling shot with mixed r…[Read more] -

Mr. Wynne in his last statement on one of his post talked about bringing a bundle of his efforts to the matches to collect an significant collection of 9’s that got me thinking(that’s scary ) in the last few week on here we have discussed how guns, ammo and accessories have greatly improved and that has help with higher scores. Has that som…[Read more]

I went to eat with my son and his family last night and I told him at some point in time I’ll probably have to go to assisted-living homes when you and your sister start looking at one make sure the rooms are big enough for my gun safe and reloading bench and that it’s ok for me to store gun powder in the room, he gave one those “looks” he learned from me

Next year’s adjustment list:
Anneal more often maybe after each firing
Be more aggressive in my barrel cleaning especially in the throat area
Revisit shoulder bump and setting depth which could go hand in hand.
Go back to using dry lube in the neck before seating bullets I use to do that but stopped but can’t remember why. Plus a couple more thi…[Read more] -

When you bump your should do you bump just enough that the bolt will close or bump enough that bolt just starts to close feel no resistance from the brass. At RB I shoot a clunker Savage so I don’t know what smooth bolt closes feel like lol. Barry between you and me Mr.Wynne may to buy larger data plan for this site

This is another one of those subjects that if you posted on some of the gun sites that site would explode with replies and most of them would be different but posting on this site we mite only get 3 replies but I would value those 3 over the 200 or more on other sites!
I do use a bore guide and Kroil is my main solvent but at times I do use…[Read more] -

Well it’s the end of the shooting season so it’s time to deep clean my stuff, anneal and trim brass among other stuff. I don’t spend much time on shooting forums other than Reese Bottom why Because you could ask what color brown is and you would get 50 different answers and all kinda debates and would leave more confused than when you start…[Read more]

Normally I set a goal to have fun at RB but I don’t have to set that as a goal anymore because it’s automatic, the shooters at Reece bottom except me for who I am and what I shoot and is fully made up with “my people”. Win, lose or draw always leave with the same smile on my face that I came with. The hardest goal I have each month is making…[Read more]

Wow after seeing the scores from Saturday’s match I felt like I was at the world championship, they were some shooters on fire. When I left home Saturday morning headed to pick up John, I felt like I could fulfill Mr. Wynne’s “what’s expected”. I was on the first relay and my first relay score was 199 11X that I was very happy with then I sat bac…[Read more]

As I stated Saturday I always set a goal for the match this month I set two, The first goal was to shoot in the 190’s in both 1K Relays
Accomplish that by shooting a 191 and 192 my second goal was not shoot an 8 in either relay but I shot one 8 in both relays so I didn’t reach that goal.
One goal that I do have each month is to leave with the sam…[Read more] -

Last Saturday at the team match me and Mr. Allen got a chance to share our thoughts on a couple subjects. he open the door by asking me if I clean my barrel in between relays and I told him no that I felt like my gun shot a little better dirty he told me that he did and because I value his opinion I might try at a future match. then I ask him his…[Read more]

Aug team match
To me Saturday was a fun day I enjoyed shooting the team matches a couple of times a year it gives me a chance to not only learn but get to know that person but also share ideals which I think is what Mr. Wynne is hoping for. I was excited when I learned that I would be shooting with Mr. Allen. He brings a lot to the table…[Read more]
