Anyone that reads my monthly match reports over the years know I’m just an Average shooter shooting below average equipment And I like to run the numbers each month to see if my score is close or above the match average that’s one of my goals each match is to shoot above match average. so I got to thinking and decided to run the numbers to see what my average score was for the whole year.
In the 600 yard matches which I shot 4 my average score was 579 15x with April’s 568 being my lowest 600 yd score for the year and Aug was my highest at 588 15x
For the 1K matches I also shot 4, my average was 562 13x
What’s interesting is in the 2024 1k matches not only did I shoot my lowest ever 60 shot 1k score of 524 in Feb. but also my highest ever 1k score of 580 which was the Oct. match. So there was a a 20 point spread
From highest to lowest at 600 and a 56 point spread at 1k. A goal for next year is keep all my scores above match average and lower the point spread from highest to lowest.
I’ve only shot one 200 relay and that was at 600 back in July of 22 but I come to every match thinking I can shoot another one and even one at 1k and I haven’t won a match in several years and they were back when we shot at closer distances But I come to most matches thinking I’m prepaid to win. No body knows what next year holds but I’m already setting my goals.
None of the goals I reached this year was as rewarding as being named
“Shooter of the year” in open and Congrads to Surrell for winning it in FTR
