1760 YARDS IS A FAR REACH FOR A RIFLE. DO YOU HAVE THE PROPER EQUIPMENT TO ACCOMPLISH SUCH A FEAT? MOST SCOPES DON’T HAVE ENOUGH ELEVATION ADJUSTMENT TO GET THERE. WITH A .338 LAPUA AT SEA LEVEL YOU WOULD NEED ABOUT 64 MINUTES UP FROM A 200 ZERO! IF YOU ARE SHOOTING A 6.5 WITH 140 BERGERS AT 2920 FPS YOU WILL NEED ABOUT 74 MINUTES FROM A 200 ZERO. I CHECKED MY 12-42 NF SCOPE SITTING ON A 20 MOA RAIL ZERO’D AT 200 AND FOUND THAT IT HAD ONLY 46 MOA OF ELEVATION. EVEN USING THE 5 MILDOTS WOULD STILL NOT BE ENOUGH. AN 8-32 POWER ON A 20 MOA RAIL WITH AT LEAST 20 MOA HASH MARKS FOR HOLDOVER WILL GET YOU CLOSE. A 5 1/2-22 x 56 NXS ON A 20 MOA RAIL HAS PLENTY WITH ROOM TO GO FARTHER. I ORDERED A 40 MOA BASE FOR MY RIFLE BUT WILL PROBABLY ONLY USE IT WHEN AND IF I EVER GET TO TRY A MILE SHOT. LOTS OF STORIES ON THE WEB ABOUT EXTENDED RANGE SHOOTING. CHECK IT OUT.
