      Next year’s adjustment list:
Anneal more often maybe after each firing
Be more aggressive in my barrel cleaning especially in the throat area
Revisit shoulder bump and setting depth which could go hand in hand.
Go back to using dry lube in the neck before seating bullets I use to do that but stopped but can’t remember why. Plus a couple more things tucked in my brain but could not remember them cause I was concentrating on typing
Do a little tweaking on a cold weather 1K load after a couple pop up warnings almost at subsonic. No equipment up upgrade other than maybe stain the boards I stack up to rest my bipod on lol! May get the 223 Striker up to where it needs to be and shoot it FTR at 600 a couple matches
But none of this will matter until I can regain my metal focus for the entire match not just one relay, complete from sight alinement, tigger control to follow though. This is something I have struggled with the last two years
And shows up by having a good relay followed up by a bad relay. Goals for upcoming year:
I was really hoping I could be back shooting prone by now I work on it everyday but right now if I lay prone I have zero use of my right arm and it’s an ordeal to get back up so I’m not sure if I ever can ever shoot prone again. But most of all I look forward to coming and enjoy MY friends
      What’s yours?

RICHARD that sounds like a good well thought out list. personally i feel that i learned a lot about using the Mirage this year. so i plan on getting back and improving on that. i don’t foresee changing anything about my reloading except for the way i lube the necks. i have a good two year supply of everything but if i see something i dang sure will get it lol.

P.S. after all you have been through i think that you are doing one hell of a great job.

Mr. Richard, like Brett said, I think you have a great game plan and if you have to shoot off of the bench all year that will be fine because I know you’ll always be competitive!
I enjoy traveling and shooting when I can and I’m signed up for southwest nationals in Phoenix for February. I’ve got a new cartridge I’ve been playing with since June and like anything else there’s a learning curve but I’ve got a new barrel ready next week and I’ve got fireforming and load development to do so I’ll be busy when the weather cooperates to be ready for February, I usually take 3 rifles for 5 days of shooting.
I’m also going to pick my dasher back up this year, when I got into long range I dove head first with a 284 and 300wsm and I feel like I’m pretty proficient with them now and the way components are I won’t be wasting those at mid range matches. It will be nice to shoot something with almost no recoil again! I guess you could say I’m pretty serious when it comes to fclass but with the guys I’ve been shooting with the last couple of years, you don’t have a choice but to bring your A game every match. I turned down an invitation to the v2 finale last year but I’m planning on going this year as long as the venue is still at dead zero shooting park. Hopefully I can make a decent showing. Other than that, I’ll just be cleaning and organizing my reloading room and hopefully have everything ready for another year, good Lord willing!

I have bought a new spotting scope. Where this adventure ends up, not sure, but I hope to improve at reading mirage and improve my scores along the way. I bought a polecat stand from Creedmore several years ago and thought that I had a nice Leupold scope but when I pulled the thing out, the scope was a no name. I have since ordered a Razor HD Vortex from the Sportsman’s Warehouse. Appears to be a GenI item at about half the price of the GenII. It is a fine-looking piece of equipment but results are yet to be determined. WWE

Received this photo from good shooter Brett Collins. I sent back the comment “nice setup”, his response was “now I’ve got to use it”. Good job Brett, hopefully we can learn together. WWE

Planning to up the game come next year, got a new barrel for my old 308, not sure when it will be ready, so until then I’ll be petting my 300 wsm to see how it works. I will have a spotting scope after the last match and a good little talk with Barry and Tyler, I thank y’all for that. Barry I hope you do well in Phoenix.
