On Saturday October 21, 2023, Reese Bottom will host a Long Range Prone Match. The course of fire will be 3 X 20 X 1000 yards. Please arrive by 8:00 am so that we can get things going on time. The match will be run as usual. I will have some food and drinks. Sorry to be a day or so late with the announcement, but I wanted to wait until after the V2 match so that there would be no confusion. Please register your attendance here in this topic by Thursday night, October 19 at 7:00 pm. Be sure and check the home page to see where you stand in the Shooter of the Year standings. Remember, you must shoot a minimum of seven matches to qualify. Most of us have shot ourselves in the foot instead of shooting ourselves into the lead. I have a prize for each division that I think the winners will be proud of and plans are to create a plaque to hang on the clubhouse wall. Plans are to pair the contenders in each division together in the same relay for the next two months. Only two matches left in 2023, so make plans now to be present for both. Hope to see many of you on the 21st. WWE

Attendance was light, but the five V2 FTR shooters had a good time. Heard it said that that is a lot of shooting. We all learned a few new things. Congrats to Surrell for his good shooting. See the Home Page and the Photo Page.

We are closing the registration for the long range prone match to be held this Saturday, October 21 at Reese Bottom. The Open Division should be an unbelievable competition. There are fourteen good shooters registered for the Open Division and four of Reese Bottom’s best will square off in the FTR Division. Everyone with a chance to become “2023 Shooter of the Year” is registered for the match and both divisions appear to be going down to the last match next month. Please come prepared to participate on Saturday and try to be here by 8:00 am. The match will be 3 X 20 X 1000 with five relays competing so it will take some time. The weather should be okay and I will plan to have some food and drinks so bring your “A” game and come planning to lay it all on the line. WWE

With two matches remaining in the 2023 shooting season, both divisions are in a tight race for the “Shooter of the Year” competition. Results are listed on the Home Page. After next month’s shoot, if there were to be a tie, all that are tied will participate in a shoot off. We will flip a coin to see who shoots first{two sighters and then three for record at 1000 yards} If still tied, flip a coin to see who shoots first and shoot alternate shot until someone scores a lesser score. If you are in contention, please be sure to have a dozen or so extra rounds. Out of ammo = forfeit.

Thanks to everyone who has supported Reese Bottom this year and we are already looking forward to 2024. WWE

ps. I have been working on the road all week. I am trying to put some ground up concrete from the creek to the turn in and it is very rough. Please stay to the right side on the new stuff to help pack it down. It is rough so drive slow. I am interested to see what happens after it gets wet. If all else fails, I will push it in the ditch. Just a heads up. WWE

Just realized adding all the names onto the Open spreadsheet that with fourteen shooters registered the “Gunny Pot” will be probably the largest ever. $75.00 We will also pay four places so come with the hope of doing well. I will add some of the profits to the FTR pot to up that ante a little. Looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday. WWE
