My Wife before she left for Heaven made me promise I would keep shooting Im trying to honor that just like I did right after she passed
Today I shot with a new type rear rest. I had modified this rest to fit me and had practiced with it on two different days at a range soo I was not experimenting on match day! I felt like it really helped because of the limited use of my right hand and arm my old setup I couldn’t get steady, Today for the 1st.time post stroke I felt like I was in control of each shot. I also shot the best I’ve shot post stroke. So today I was encouraged that I can still do this. Looking at a screen shot of the open class it was a tight race with only a couple points difference between 1st. and 5th with serval ties decided by X count.
      My goals moving forward:
Make Mr. Wynne smile all day! though his kindness he is allowing us to enjoy Reese Bottoms this shouldn’t be job for him but an enjoyable day of fun. All he has ask of us other than normal safety rules is to sign up on time, be there on time, be ready to go to the line when it’s your time, Come ready to compete, and respect to the shooter on the line and when you leave win lose or draw leave with same smile on your face that you had when you arrived. Not that hard.
I try at the end match when I’m leaving to shake his hand and think him for letting enjoy my friends at Reese Bottoms Most of the time I forget to tell the people that help with the match the same thing I’m going to work on that. Until next month be safe and tell those you love that you love them every day

Richard, I look forward to reading your match report each month and especially this month because you suggested that I reread the ‘What’s Expected’ topic. It would make life simpler for me if all good shooters would do the same. Please understand that on the third Saturday, ten months a year, these matches do not just happen, it takes quite a bit of preparation on my part to pull things off[bushhog, weed eat, charge a dozen devices, load ammo, provide two meals, enter registration data, load everything up, get everything setup on day of shoot] I enjoy these third Saturdays and especially sharing with others things that I have been blessed with. I have wonderful match day help that I really appreciate and I hate to keep bringing all this up but it seems that my expectations for those that shoot at Reese Bottom go unheeded. I cannot imagine the day when it comes that I am expected to break my rule of three target misses in a row, pull the rifle, and have to tell a good shooter, sorry but you just threw a random bullet into a $500 dollar piece. Ask Steve Gilley, it happens. Most months all good shooters are given two weeks to register. I do this so that I can get the spreadsheet complete by match day and give myself one less thing to have to do. I do not see that as being unreasonable. Shooting prone, it should not be my responsibility to have to remind you that your muzzle brake is throwing dirt in your neighbor’s face because you should not show up for a prone match with a brake on your gun. The last thing that I want to mention is the loud conversation under the shed while good shooters are going for record. Most of us are getting older and hard of hearing and with ear protection on talk very loud[me included] and in my opinion this is disrespectful of the shooter. Please go out beyond the porta potty and sit on the tailgate of your truck to carry on your conversation. While me or anyone else are for record, we do not need to hear “look at ole so in so” he is clean after fifteen. The results will be tallied and everyone will know what happened before they leave. Sorry good shooters for mentioning this, I will do anything in the world for any of you and I thank you for your support of our matches. I promise to do my part, you do your’s. WWE

This new computer is driving me nuts trying to get everything updated. Nothing seems to remain the same from one to the next. I think I have finally dug my way through to completion. See the Home Page, the Results Page and the Photos Page. Also, I have updated the match format for both October and November so check this out on the Events Page. My cell number is 334-654-2462 if any of you ever want to discuss something that I have said or done and remember to spend all of your money on powder and bullets and always remember to turn your turrets back to zero. I would like to say a “Big Thank You” to Mike Boykin for fabricating new 600 yard target stands for Reese Bottom. We will hopefully have this in place by next month. Good job Mike, WWE

Ron Williams, you mentioned the use of an app that you use to chase supplies. Please list it here. Scott Parten, you mentioned a website that you use that I am not familiar with if you care to share. Thanks fellows, WWE

I found this website looking for some obsolete ammo for a friend of my father-in-law. I used AmmoSeek to find the site. AmmoSeek is good but not as fast as the app Ron is talking about.

Despite my frustrations with load development I really enjoyed the shoot Saturday. I have been shooting at reesebottom for two years now and enjoy seeing and competing with everyone. We are all adults and the rules are clear for sign up times and preparation. I do not think that’s too much to ask. I try my best to go ahead help get things done pre and post match to help Wynne before he asks me. I was happy to see Skyler shooting this weekend. It is encouraging to see young children get involved in the sport that we all love.
I was also glad to see that participation was up this month. It makes it more fun and competitive.
I dug Brett Collins out of the ashes and we are going to shoot some this week. Hopefully we will see him on the line in June.

It was very good to see skyelor get to shoot I love seeing the young generation get out and shoot they are the next generation of shooters after all and this day and age it’s great to see one coming up because most the rest of them are too worried about a video game or their phone. We should all help any child to the best of our abilities to make them feel comfortable stay safe and enjoy this sport. That boy has came to match after match and waited his turn and he finally is getting there makes me happy to see.
