1st. let me say Sat. I made the statement that I wish Steve would host his shoot twice a year the reason is twofold 1st because it’s a little different and has its own unique set of challenges like you better know how to understand the uses of your turrets as in multiple revolution both up and down like going from a 300-yard shot to an almost 1k shot and back to 400 yards. shot. But the main reason I saw a side of Mr. Wynne I have not seen, totally relaxed having fun joking laughing just having a good time. Why because he was not having to worry with running the match and dealing with the Buddies of the world. And he got to shoot ok maybe his shooting was not up to the high standards the shooters of Reese try to maintain but we can work on that. BUT he WAS having FUN! I’m a Man on a mission to see that side when shoot at Reese Bottom. On a side note, Steve wined and dine us and let us shoot without us paying a dime yet he or his RO’s never got to shoot That bothers me.
      My match report:
Well, I did it. We’ve all talked that someone would get off a full turn on their turrets Well that is not what I did. What I did do was on the 1st. set of targets knowing what targets I was shooting which was the closer targets for some old man reason I looked at my setting note and put in settings for the further targets which resulted in 9 misses not sure how I hit that one target LOL. I figured that out when started to put the setting for next string of fire and found out those setting was all ready there. Now after typing all that I may have stated totally backwards but I an’t retyping bottom line 1st. 10 targets scored 1 hit 9 misses and to make things more backwards my next 10 targets I HAD 9 HITS AND 1 MISS!!!!
So, after the 1st. 20 targets I had a score 10 show shooting 50% so far. You confused yet.
Now on a simpler report I went clean on Table #3 that’s about as simple as it gets. Table #4 was a simple 8/10 and I finished up on #5 going 9/10
      My tables went #1 1/10, #2 9/10, #3 10/10, #4 8/10 and #5 9/10 for a totally of 37/50 and was told I had the 3rd. highest score I’ll take that
Interesting fact my 1st. sighter was dead center my next 3 touching but low left and most of my scoring shots were high right.
I appreciate all the help with hauling me around and helping with my gear and Steve keeping a finger in my belt loop to keep me from falling. I’m far from being a 100% but I am thanks to friend back shooting
Thanks to all that make this happen

Richard, you are an amazing story, both health wise and shooting wise. You are an inspiration to all of us. There were guys behind you yesterday that had never seen you shoot that thing you shoot with their mouths wide open in awe of your plinking those steel targets at such long distances. Local knowledge shooters Jimmy Davis and Johnny Pace finished 1-2 with you coming in a close third. The rest of us have work to do.

A big thank you to Steve, Dewayne, and Jake for a job well done. The accommodations were fantastic. See a few random photos taken yesterday on the ‘Photo’ page.

For my match report I must admit that I did not know what to expect not having shot a match like this before. Looking back, I would think that I do not have the proper stuff for this type shooting. One could take my stuff and shoot the match, but it would be somewhat difficult to make the time limit that is desired. For instance, some were shooting the two targets under two minutes and I was over five minutes and I hit the berm about as much as I hit a target. I knew that we were expected to move to three different stations so I took a sandbag with a handle on it, rather than a front and rear rest, for easy carrying and I could not get comfortable using it. Seemed like every time my heart beat the crosshairs moved. Seeing Dewayne jogging from station to station in the heat reassured to me that I have gotten both fat and old. I am very thankful for the shade at both stations two and three. Thanks again Steve for a fun day at the range.

Now back to Reese Bottom for 1000 yard prone shooting in September, October, and November to finish out the year 2021. Champion Sniper has over ruled the committee and insisted that the September match be a 2/20/1000 match{9/18/21} Will have more info around the first of September so stay tuned. WWE

Thanks Steve and all that help out Saturday, you have a really nice set up. It was different and it really found my weak spots, I have work to do. Having a zero stop on a scope is a very important feature which I wished I had Saturday. After talking with Mr. Johnny after the match and the long ride home thinking about how I could make some changes to better my equipment. We’ll all I can say is I’m working on it. Lol, I did notice that the executive committee of Reese Bottom had a different personality, might have been that big ol bag he was toting around. Looking forward to the next one.
