Well I’m writing this report from home so I made home safe. The Lord blessed us with a great day of shooting : Amen
As I looked at the sign up sheet I thought man what an all star cast I felt like I was shooting at a world championship! And I would probably need to Adjust my goals for this match. But my number 1 goal is still in place, to make Mr. Wynne smile all day if he’s smiling I’m smiling and one of the way for us both to smile is for me and all shooters to “come prepared to compete” and I think I somewhat did that today. He has always said come shoot and him never know you where there, meaning don’t become a problem. I went up to him sometime near the end of the match and told him in case he hadn’t noticed I was there. he knew what I meant and I got one of a few grins. because today my problems were minimal. I spent the time before the match and between relays trying to say focused on the task at hand and thinking positive and not let Distractions, negative thoughts fill my head or go into information overload. Part of my recovery plan is to solve my own problems and I work on that every day. Since our last match which I had problems I’ve changed out my scope and changed up some of my shooting process after these changes with a couple of range days out to 300 yards I felt good. I’m Not totally saying the scope was all the problems I admit the shooter was some of the problems also, but I did find some discrepancies with the scope and had lost confidence in it . Sometime you need to change out something to get your confidence back which changing scopes did.
On to the match: I felt so good about the day that I skipped the cold bore/ fouling 100 yrd. shot and went straight to 1000 yard target. I put in somewhat of an average 1K setting of the 1k setting I used over the years. So still with pucker factor in place I shot my 1st. Sighter and was glad it was on paper ( high 9) which was a big plus. I made a scope adjustment and next shot another 9 border line 10 down one more click which was a ten I liked what I saw so with the clock running and and not real sure how I will be pushed to get my 20 shots record in. So ready or not going to shoot for score and relieved that somebody else is pushing the for score button and not me that’s was another one of my problem last match.
My 1st relay 192 8X which made feel real good
2nd relay 189 2X which included one 8 that I called but still happy camper
3rd. relay 195 5X was not only my best of the day but my best ever relay for me at 1 X and my final score of 576 15X was my best ever score so I was really pumped and makes me think that the changes I made including the scope was time well spent. And time clock was not a problem for me I had plenty of time.
My adjusted goals: normally I hope to finish above the whole match average score, but my adjusted goal for this match was not to have the lowest total match score: I’m happy to say mine was not the lowest. Another goal at 1K is to keep all three relays above 190
The 1st. relay was 192, 2nd. 189 and 3rd. 195 so did reach that goal
But it did avg. above 190 and happy about that.

I decided to go ahead and run the total numbers. I’ve got an Excel program set up to do that so I just had to plug in the number to find out: total match average was 583 my total was 575 so Slightly below match average. but hey with the Al star cast we had today I’m good with that. Today was just what the doctor order, get out and shoot with friends
And it also gave me my confidence back.
One small rant. Mr. Wynne ask that shooters after they shot their relay and moving their stuff to be courteous to the shooters that now shooting on the line but from what I saw some where not and I also saw people doing things with the line hot that in my mind were not safe and I will just leave it at that. Rant over. And today I think we all see why Mr. Wynne limits to 20 shooters the place was packed.
Looking forward to next month, thanks to all that gave a Pat on the back and words of encouragement, that meant a lot to me
