Barry HolcombParticipantJust looking for some feedback on whether you did or didn’t like the v2 part of the match if you shot it? Tell me about the good and the bad, was it challenging? Boring? Would you want to shoot more matches like that?
Personally, I love shooting pair fire, it makes you pay attention and make bold calls sometimes and no one is out of it until the last shot. Let me hear what you think. -

KeymasterProbably not qualified to respond. Never shot V2 but have observed from 30,000 feet. Is a lot faster way of shooting than single fire. Saturday we had 16 good shooters participating in the V2 portion of the match that consisted of a total of 4 relays. That number of single good shooters would have probably required twice as many relays, or twice as long to shoot. Time and practice for the finale are the plusses that I can see. What surprised me though was the lack of attention that many non-shooters actually paid to the efforts of their shooting partner. Looks to me as though something could be learned by observing the condition and point of impact from the partner’s shot. I never heard a good shooter tell their partner that they did not like them, so I guess each good shooter trust their abilities more than their partner’s.
Overheard one good shooter mention that he was not aware that the first 60 counted into the V2. Maybe he learned something. Also noticed that a couple of good shooters actually used the V2 portion to improve their position, which is good. Another thing that caught my eye was that there were no clean 150’s. Kinda surprising. One good shooter asks where the V’s and 5’s were and he had to be reminded that he was at Reese Bottom and not the V2 finale. All in all, it was a wonderful day for shooting. WWE

Steve HowellParticipantThanks Mr. Wynn. It’s not the getting down or up. I can’t get my head behind the scope in the prone position due to arthritis in my neck. Should have taken better care of myself when I was young!

scott partenParticipantIt seemed I had more time to watch the conditions. I enjoyed the pair fire and would do it again. No issue from me shooting an entire match using this format.

Richard SlatonParticipantI hate I didn’t get hang around and watch the V2 match it’s truly a good spectator sport. I watch it a lot on UTube . I think it can add a lot of pressure knowing what the guy you’re shooting against score is. Plus the fact that it brought a lot of new to us shooter to Reese Bottom. It’s funny I shot some of my Lowe’s scores and came in last and still maybe enjoyed the day more than I have in a lone time. Why because I enjoy shooting against the best. And sometime you might just pick up a tip or too. As long as you still have regular match so can still shoot it I would be happy with an add on V 2 several matches a year if nothing else for the larger crowd. I was also shocked that they were only I think 2 clean relays shot in the regular Match I was expecting several 600’s. I glad it all went smooth. Mr. Wynne next year I will try to make I get my junk before I leave

Kipp CharltonParticipantI enjoyed the pair fire. Forces you to make judgment calls that you might not normally make during string fire. I thought it went really smooth and I hope we do more of them in the future.
