KeymasterYou fellows have really made me proud this week. I have come home each night and kept up with all that has been talked about. Our little town had it’s one day in the sun this week and it has been hectic to say the least. Our festivity is called Chillyfest. We have a chilly cookoff and a night parade. We had the store Christmas party Friday night under the tent, fed over four hundred people a bowl of chili for lunch on Saturday, and the Mrs. and I were selected grand marshals for the night parade. See the photo. Our first cousin and her husband brought in a 1921 Rolls Silver Eagle for us to ride in. Fun was had by all. Today, we ended the weekend with our Customer Appreciation Sale, which was overwhelming. I had much rather spend my Saturdays we you fellows.
Help me with this one? a friend, 6.5 Creedmore, factory ammo, 140 gn Hornady bullets, 2755 fps at the muzzle, custom build, 100 yard zero. We shot the plate beside the 400 yard backer and hit dead center twice at up 8.1 moa. We were not set up to shoot out to the 1000 yard targets but the good shooter asked me what the dope might be. I entered the information for his rifle into my bullet flight app and it says to go up like 54.4 moa. I have never seen an adjustment that high. Could it possibly be right? Please keep up the good work fellows it just might help the next couple of months pass right by. Thanks, WWE

KeymasterThe bullet that the good shooter claimed to be in the factory ammo is not in the program database. I just went back into the app database and selected a listed bullet and entered it as a substitute. The app then listed the elevation as 28.4 moa., or half the previous calculation. Guess it’s better to shoot database projectiles, or to have some idea of the expected results. I knew something was not right. WWE

KeymasterI figured out what I messed up to create the big number. The 143 gn Hornady bullet was not in the app database and I did not think to enter a value for BC. Once I did that the program generated a realistic number. Live and Learn. WWE
