It felt good to be back shooting with friends at Reese Bottom
My day started ruff but finished good.
I started with the same 1k settings I used last Nov. My 1st. Sighter was a very low and right 7 followed be a 6 which had me scratching my head!!
I ended up addling a full MOA of elevation and half MOA left windage before aI finally got a 9 followed by 3 more 9 using 8 Sighter shots ready or not going for score. First four was a mixture 9’s and X’s before a ugly 8 popped up finished the relay with mixture of 9’s 10’s and X’s for a first relay of 187 4x’s which I think was low relay of the day. In between relays I had a little talk to my self and decided to make a little adjustment on how I addressed the gun. And it seem to work. My second relay my Sighter were a mixture 9’s and X’s as I made adjustments. So I’m ready for score and my first 5 shots for score 4 10’s and 1 X then a 9 that I called when the shot broke. My next 11 shots were a mixture of 10’s and X’s then back and to back 9’s so I set back took a deep breath and finish the relay with 10. For my highest ever relay at 1K of 197-6X which made me fill better about the day. And I backed that up with 3rd relay of 196-6 X. Which made me feel like the adjustments I made where the right call so I ended up with a match score of 580-16x which was good for 2nd place in open behind Wynne and my 16 X’s was 1 x short of Wynne’s 17 so I fished strong after a ruff start. As always I run the numbers, match average for open was 573 so I finished about average in open total match average was 578 so I finished shooting about average which is alway one of my goals. What did I learn: don’t give up stay the course, make adjustments lock out the world and make that shot. The gun was there today but it took the shooter a little time to get in the grove. Still concerned about have to come that full MOA we’ll see how that plays out next month.
Happy to see some new faces today hope they will be back. And thank you Mr. Wynne for all you do so we can come and enjoy the day

Nice shooting Mr. Richard!! The last two scores you put up are impressive. Hate I couldn’t make it.

“Still concerned about have to come that full MOA we’ll see how that plays out next month.” Please take this for what it is worth. I shot the dasher this past Tuesday morning about 11:00 am and the dope that I used Saturday morning was up one moa + 1 click from what I had used on Tuesday, all things the same. If nothing is changed during the loading process, I think that it is a condition change, not something that you did. I know that sunshine vs overcast changes things, and I had an airplane pilot once tell me that they keep a close watch on the ‘altitude density’. Something to think about. For me, I record the previous month moa and when I shoot the next match, I add 1 moa to that number and square up on the ‘X’ and see where the bullet hits. I chase the ‘X’ with my sighters for that first relay of the day. Also watch the sighters in relays two and three for any changes. Why do I add an moa each time? The virtual ‘X’ at Reese Bottom favors the bottom and on days like yesterday, the lower target frame board gets hit. lol Thanks again for the report. WWE

Thank you Mr. Wynne you told me what I was hoping someone would say that they saw the same thing I saw. Your post will help me get a game plan for next month
