Okay everybody, you can take a big sigh of relief. Suze and I had a wonderful trip but are glad to be home. The only thing that I ordered while at the show was a Wicked Edge knife sharpener. I’ll be as nice as I possibly can here but truth is that the Shot Show has gone away, pretty much, from what we do. Self-defense, law enforcement, and military are the main focus as I see it. A gazillion black guns and parts and probably that many pistols. All of the optics companies were there, shillen barrels, Hornady, Sierra, Federal, Remington, etc. I asked a gentleman at the Federal booth about primers and he looked at me like I was crazy. I enjoyed talking with Alex and Matt at the Annealing Made Perfect booth. They are glad to answer your questions. I was going to look for a pair of bluetooth earbuds but I let the price run me off.[$1500] I have custom electronic ones that work off hearing aid batteries and they will have to do for now. One of the most eye catching items was the new line of HD glass riflescopes from Sightron. One of the milrad units had a 40mm tube. Also, the price point was $3000 plus. Hodgdon powder guy said they are coming with a Varget look a like ball powder. I think he said Hodgdon Match powder. My take from the show was that good stuff has gotten expensive, find yourself a good local gunsmith to build you things, and do not hesitate to spend money for the components you need on the secondary market. We are about half way through the dead period. Hope to see many of you in February and look for an upcoming mass email. If any of you have questions about the show, I will try to answer them in a day or two. WWE
