ParticipantJust curious if anyone has any new rifles/calibers they’re going to be trying out in 25’? Maybe just swapping bullets? Powder? Etc?
Maybe we could ask questions here and see if anyone has any prior experience to help others save some time and money or help enhance what we are already using? Just a thought. -

ParticipantBarry you may not get many if any reply’s during this dead period between the last match of the year and 1st. Match in Feb. very few come here other than to sign up and see the results during the shooting season. I’m probably just going to shoot the same ole same ole. I had thought about maybe shooting a 223 I built in some of the 600 match if I run low on supply’s for BrX I guess we will see.

ParticipantRon, nothing wrong with the dasher at all and a fresh barrel is always a good idea.
A 7mm is great for long range and mid range but brass is hard to find for a 284 right now. The magnums seem to be taking over at long range -

KeymasterGood to read these off season topics on the website. Keep up the good work. I hope all is well with you good shooters and Suze and I wish you a Very Merry Christmas. We are getting a new Bartlein 5R barrel for the .308. Going to give N150 powder a try. I read a recent post by a fellow that won the FTR division at some national match using N150 pushing Berger 200 hybrids in the mid 2600 fps. We will see how it goes. Also building a new 7 max around the FClass Product’s Eminence FTR action and are putting it in a walnut stock built by Dennis Ray. Hopefully it will be on the line at Reese Bottom by the fall 1000 yard matches.
This past Monday I shot 21 pieces of leftover dasher rounds at 1000 yards at 2:00 pm. Conditions were not too bad. Had fun trying to figure out the mirage. Some good and some bad. Cannot gauge intensity for sure. Brought her home and broke her down for a deep clean. Appears the throat has moved several .001. WWE

ParticipantWell Mr. Wynne I think in the Nov. match about a third of the field in open was shooting the 7 Max and there were several 200’s shot with it, they proved its a winner for sure. I guess Us 6mm guys are no match for the Max. And “better run for the hills”

ParticipantNathan has me looking at a 7SWC. We’re hoping Sherman comes out with the brass for a 6.5.

ParticipantWow Steve I got my tail kicked all last shooting year by the Max and now looks like I’ll get it kicked this next year by the SWC!

ParticipantI’m gonna stay with my 308, it seems to be getting a little better. So I’m going to try and tighten up what I have. I really need to learn reading the wind. Just getting new components for 2025.

ParticipantKenneth yes please stay in FTF and terrorize them, Open class has a full all star class of great shooters, I’m having hard time trying to keep my head above water and it’s getting harder and harder for me to shoot an average score with all the 200’s being shot now.
