KeymasterI will mention a thing or two here and we can discuss things as we get closer to a match date. Please visit the Events Page for the 2026 schedule. First, I would like to thank all of you good shooters for your support during the 2025 shooting season. All in all, I think we had a great year of shooting. Notice that the first scheduled match is on Saturday February 21, 2026. It will be a normal long range prone match. That is 3 X 20 X 1000 yards and we will take up to 25 good shooters. I will announce the match around the first of February, and you will be able to register there in the topic.
I plan to make a couple of changes to things. First, notice that I am going to $30 per match. Plans are to give the winner a little bigger trophy. Plans are also to create a Bench Division. Here are the rules for the new division. The first four to sign up at 600 yards and the first five to sign up at 1000 yards are in. It will not be caliber specific [.308 vs 7 max] If you want to shoot from a bench, just be one of the first to sign up for a bench. At 600 yards the winner will get $20 + something and at 1000 yards we will pay $25 + something. If anyone has questions, ask them here.
Pass the word that the March match will have a V2 add on. I am excited about the Long-Range Championship to be held in the fall. We will talk a lot more about that in the near future. Please help promote the matches at Reese Bottom. We have several good shooters that have gotten out of the habit of shooting. We need good shooters in order to have competitive matches. ‘Bout dat time. WWE

Steve HowellParticipantA short question: is the long range championship match in the fall going to be NRA sanctioned?

Steve HowellParticipantSorry. I see it’s a V2 match.

Steve HowellParticipantRegarding the bench scoring: not that im necessarily against the proposed system, im just wondering why?

KeymasterSteve, you are the second person to question this, so I am deleting this idea, and the bench division will be scored the same way the other divisions are scored. Thanks for the input. I guess I was trying to put a Reese Bottom stamp on something.
I would like to mention here also that in the case of a tie in a division, is it fair to go to the last target of the day and call the scores backwards? I have not shot other places in quite a while, and I am not sure what is a fair way to break a tie. Thanks again, WWE

Richard SlatonParticipantI’m a 100% good with However you run the match, what ever it takes to get more shooters.
