When do you stop working on load development?
How do you decide your rifle is shooting the best it can?
At what point do loading practices stop showing gains and become busy work?
When do you stop adjusting stuff and simply work on shooting mechanics?

I like to work on load development early mornings at the local public range to beat the weekend crowd. I ran across another member this morning before church and we talked about the best way to keep improving.
I have noticed my scores over the last year are not as consistent as I would like them to be. One good group and one not so good. Good days and not so good days.
My thoughts are to just shoot the next couple of months and work on me. I’m going to stop chasing the smallest group and work on shooting all of them good.

      Thoughts?

MR SCOTT I think that it’s some of both. a load that’s in tune one day may be off the next. I try to go shoot the weekend before a match and test my load. and I try to keep records of how a given load performs in a given temperature range. and a lot of things are out of my control. So for the most part I just work on me. that is why I do 85% of my shooting at 100 yards. at 100 yards you’re not so worried about trying to make a wind call you can just focus on technique and when you screw up it shows big time.
