Match report from bench #1

Well, I had just finished loading my ammo for the match when I read Wynne‘s post about the possibility of a cyclone and I got to remembering when I was a small child my grandparents talking about the cyclone they live through in the 1940s in north Alabama they had no warning now my phone starts blowing up telling me what time the rain will start!! Speaking of rain I didn’t get to go shoot prior to the match normal I like to got shoot a few rounds prematch to to foul my clean barrel normally fire form brass with these shots but not this month. Last month I shot two different seating depths. One worked and one didn’t but you don’t know till you try. This month the thing I’m experimenting with is me, being how I address the gun and how I execute the shot last month on the 1st. And 3rd. Relays the gun pretty much did what I told it to, on the 2nd. Relay it pretty much did what the load told it to do which was go rambling all over the target.
we’ll this month we go back to 600 which I’ve got somewhat mixed emotions now don’t get me wrong I’m a long way from mastering 600 but something about shooting 1k cranks my tractor.
On to the match:
Well as always when I come to the line I’ve got a 1000 things going through my mind, did I remember to this or that, sometimes that doubt interferes with my 6 step shot
Well Wynne said we would shoot rain or shine I saw the rain but never saw the shine.
Relay 1
Well this relay started pretty good with 1st. Sighter slightly low 9 couple of check up produced a line cutter 10 next Sighter 9 little more adjustment next 3 Sighter 2 ten and one X let’s go for score next ten shots 3x’s , 6 tens one 9 next ,10 not so good starting with a nine then an X followed by 2 ten THEN what will make you pull your hair 3 “windshield wiper” 9’s closed the relay out with an 10 and two X’s for my high relay of the day of 195 with 6X’s
Relay 2
And the rain came down and it took target 1 with it after 4 sighters that didn’t register Scott told me to hold up, so I set back and waited for the other shooters to finish the relay then I could shoot target two But after a mouse clicks Scott thought he had the problem fix and told me to try target 1 again and BAM 10 popped up so I shoot two more Sighters and two more 10’s popped up so hay let’s go for record and like always when I think I have things in my favor that first shot for record is a 9! After a mixture of 10’s and X’s I proceeded to shoot my second 3 windshield 9’s of course call followed two X’s then from out of nowhere my only 8 for record of the day then the next 8 shots were tens and X’s ten finish out with a 9
For my Lowest relay of day 193 6X
Relay 3
Scott told me there was still problem and the bench shooters were going to shift targets and for me to shoot target 2 ok now I’m thinking I’ve got to make sure to shoot target #2 NOT #1 I took 7 Sighter shots basically to just practice finding and getting on target two. My first five shots for score was 4 X’s and one 9 next five 4 tens and one 9 and the last ten shots of the day had 3x’s, 3 10’s 4 9’s with the last shot of the day a 9

for a match score of 582 19x
Summery:
Positives
I’m happy with this load the recoil is way more manageable, my relays were constant, lately I’ve had two decent and one real bad relay but not today, my x count was pretty good had more X’s than 9’s which for me is good. Started two relays with X’s. I was put to the test but I DID NOT cross fire
Negatives
Had two triple 9’s started a relay with a 9, finished two relays with a 9,
This on the shooter
Can’t blame the weather the three other shooters on my relay all shot 598 I believe.
Enjoyed the rain day with the Reese Bottom shooters and thanks to the Shot Marker tech support team Scott and Barry for keeping things running! Hope all had a safe trip home, I got to ride home with the Bench relay winner
As normal I did not proof read this I was to busy eating pizza not that it matters
