Just curious as to how dead set you fellas are in your ways when it comes to powder choices, bullets, primers, testing methods? I used to test components a lot more before I had kids and now that time is of the essence and in short supply I’ve tried to get a few calibers down to where I can load and spend more time shooting. One example for me would be how many pieces of brass I use per barrel. Normally it’s 200 but I’m going to bump that up to 300 this year because of the bigger matches I shoot and I won’t have to take two rifles. I’m sure the barrel will be wore out before I wear the brass out so I will probably keep shooting it in a new barrel to see if/when accuracy degrades. I hope everyone is doing well and been able to shoot a little bit!

I typically run with the group and try similar stuff and methods. Lot of internet time reading and trying to use what works best for the results I want. Component testing for me has expanded due to stuff being hard to come by. I have probably tested more powders in the last year than I would have in the past. I like to stick with one thing that works than experimenting.
The least amount of brass I have for one rifle is 100 and the most for another is about 350. The rifle I shoot the most I have 200 pieces.

I love jacking around and trying new stuff more than shooting. It’s calmed down since I’ve got my lathe because I have something else to experiment with. Saying that, I now find myself messing with reamers and minute changes on them.

Lately, I have not done much experimenting with components. I will admit to spending money updating the loading laboratory. I have gone through several barrels shooting Varget powder and CCI 450 primers. Unfortunately I spend many pretty days on the golf course. I have updated my spotting scope and Seb Max rest top so I guess I am experimental. Suze and I fly out to Vegas this Sunday for me to attend the SHOT Show. Looking at the exhibit list, there seems to be a lot less emphasis on long range shooting this year. This is our third trip and always enjoy seeing things.

When I get home I plan to send out a mass email to remind all the good shooters who are forum members that we will be shooting again this year on the third Saturday. It will be me not spam. Remember too, plans are to shoot at 1000 yards on the third Saturday in February. WWE
