Autotrickler V4 now. Have a V3 that it replaced. Before that, a Chargemaster lite. Honestly, I don’t think it needs to be as accurate as any of those. Especially with the bigger cartridges. In my BRA, 0.1gr gets me 10fps. In the .284, it takes about 0.3 to get 10fps. If you’ve got a decently wide tune, I think there’s some wiggle room in F-Class. LR BR may be a different story.

With the FX 120, if it’s within 0.04 up or down, I don’t really sweat it unless I’m headed to a big match. I think that’s more of a security blanket mental thing for me, anyways. I did pretty good with a good old Chargemaster Lite before that, though.

Started out with a charge master and did really well for a lot of years then made the jump to AutoTrickler v2 then upgraded to v4. I agree with Tyler, .04 I’m good with, .02 above or below target. I’ve seen some chargemasters that drift pretty bad but I guess I got a good one because it doesnt drift too much. I like the speed and accuracy of the v4 as it’s much quicker than the charge master.
I’m on the list for a super trickler, probably be March before it shows up. Hopefully they’ll have most of the bugs out of it and software updates nailed down by then. Like I said before, I have small kids and anything that saves me time in the reloading room is money well spent to me. I don’t think you have to have the nicest of everything but picking and choosing what benefits you/ups your game is up to each individual. If you like using a beam scale, nothing wrong with it.

Back about 30 years ago I upgraded my Redding beam scale with a RCBS 505 that found at a yard sale a few years back I ran across a used OHAUS 505 which basically the same I think OHAUS at the time made the RCBS scale,the Standard deviation is about avg. and every now and then I check one against the other. I use a RCBS powder twinkler They work for me and fit my personality.

Ron, I have an autotrickler, I think v2. I know it’s not the latest but I do not see how you could get any better. One thing that I have bought is a large set of tweezers that work really well adding or removing one or two kernals. Varget seems to meter better than most for me. WWE
