Wow what a packed house, I knew after l looked at the sign up list I would have to bring my very best not to come in last. It was great not only to see new faces but some that had not shot with us in wail along and glad to see the young shooters and man did they shoot good. It’s always good talking with what we call outhouse gang but we forgot because of the rain we had to set under roof and we forgot NOT to talk loud that close the the ( sorry Mr. Wynne)
The last few matches I’ve had two good (for me) relays and one bad relay that blow my total score. It’s easy to hunt something to blame it on like the gun? Nope if it shoots two good relays you can’t blame it on the gun. ammo? Nope all loaded with same components on same day. Wind/ mirage? Maybe but that falls back on the shooter which is where the problem is 90% of the time. I as the shooter am NOT putting 100% in every shot/ relay! The last couple weeks I’ve been working on my mental game and shot “ process” going back to the basics. Check the conditions and with what I saw make the call on where I need to hold then the basics sight alinement, trigger control and follow though and where was the cross hairs when the shot broke. Along with with making sure I’m set up on the gun the best way that works for me and what I shoot. All of that right now for me is a lot more data than my mine can process for 3 relays. I’m a work in progress!
      On to the match report
As I have stated before I come to compete against myself and the goals I set for each match but I also have come thinking I can win.
      Goal:
      1. Safety first: check
      2. make Mr. Wynne smile and me not be a problem : somewhat
      3. Have 3 good “for me” relays (not two): 194,194,191 check
      4. Have a new high 1K relay (above 197) : nope
      5. Finish above average : open avg. 580 mine 579 close but no cigar
      6. No 8’s: nope had two
      On to the match
As usual no mater were I start with sight setting 1st. Is always an 7 or 8 true to forum 1st shot was a 7 but I’m paper and I remember what Mr. Wynne told me don’t panic just adjust from there an after 3 more sighters I got double X’s so ready or not going for score first 6 shots 4 tens and 1 X then double 9’s then 2 ten’s second ten was more ten than 9’s so happy for a 194-5X so I sit between relays telling my self NO bad relays today
Next more of the same 194-3x which included one 8 but hey I’m shooting consistent and that was one of if not my main goal
With one more relay to go another talk to myself
And was some what rewarded with a 191 -6X my lowest relay of day but the highest x count but main thing only 3 points difference between all 3 relays which put a smile on my face
Interesting fact my at target speeds and SD
      1st. Speed 1284, sd 17.2
      2nd. 1288, 14.9
      3rd. 1296. 11.8
For what ever you read into that as temp came up my speed came and as my speed came my SD came down I noticed watching others target a lot had very low SD’s, my cheap stuff never gets in the single digits.
A fun fact I shot better in the rain than I did when it didn’t rain
I thought the match went great and thanks to all that made this happen
Until next month be safe enjoy time with family
And a big thumbs up to the 200’s shot today
If you took time to read this, well you get what I mean
      Jrs

Thanks Mr. Richard, nice reporting. Well, thank goodness for the shed. Not real sure but I think that might be the first match at Reese Bottom where we actually shot in the rain. Obviously, the rain does not affect a well-placed shot. Thanks again for all of you good shooters that braved the conditions and congratulations to the winners. I have updated the home page, the photo page, and the results page. Remember, the June, July, and August matches will each be shot at midrange [600 yards]. WWE

I wish I could blame the rain for my terrible score!
