I decided to try some H4350 in my 6.5 x 47 today since I had read so much about how good it shot. I started at 41.0 grains and loaded 3 rounds at 41.0, 41.5 and 42 grains. Although you can’t get the velocity of RL 15 the accuracy was great. At 720 yards the 41.0 group was only 2 1/4 inches with about 1 1/2 inches of vertical. The second group also was only 2 1/4 inches with even less vertical. At 42 grains the group went vertical but was still just 3 inches. Tomorrow I plan to shoot through chrony and see what the velocity is but I’m expecting 2850 Fps. Is anybody else using this powder in a 6.5 and getting good results?
Steve, I use 41.0 of H4350 grains in my 6.5, with 31″ Kreiger. Mine clocks 2890 with very low spreads through the Oehler. Lapua cases, CCI 450, .010 into the lands with the 130 gr. Berger VLD.
