Mr. Steve’s question about the RFD bullets got me to thinking (scary). When long range shooting became very popular I guess Berger with their high B.C. pushed them toward the front. A coworker started shooting PRS matches about the same time I started pushing my pistols to the other limits.I remember all he talked about was Berger bullets but a…[Read more]

I had a chance to shoot prone today. I do shoot prone in some of the other stuff I shoot but in that I cannot use an artificial rest, I don’t shoot past 200 meters and normally do use scopes. And the guns that I shoot are totally different set ups than what I shoot at Reese Bottom (What I shoot at Reese bottom are not legal under IHMSA rules).…[Read more]

Mr. Mike
Let make it very clear I have very limited expertise at this I watched my 1st. Br match last year and it was at Reese bottom I shot my 1st. and only Br. Match this year also at Reese bottom and I’m clueless how other Br. Match are run. So don’t put much stock in what I say. Last year when I only came to watch I brought my spotting sco…[Read more] -

I got my feet wet Saturday in more ways them one which is easy to do @ Reese Bottom
My 1st. Bench rest match I knew going in this would be way harder then just hitting steel
Not to say that’s easy but to put 10 shot in a tight group in the center of the target is harder!
And time I shoot a match of any kind I always set goals and that that g…[Read more] -

Looking forward to spending a fun days with new friends at Reese Bottom even if it’s just watch the rain and shooting the bull

Oh lord with all this smoke blowing I think I’m being set up LOL. What yall do at Reese Bottom is out of my league. hitting steel plates is one thing but shooting tight groups in the center of the target is a whole new ball game!
the farthest I’ve ever shot paper was 400 and that was just to confirm drops. The only time I’ve ever shot 500 was what…[Read more] -

Well thank you both for the invite! I was actually planning on coming down Sat not to shoot but offer any help I could with the chores of running the match and get a better feel of the flow of just how both the Bench rest and F class operate. Unfortunately I removed both the barrel and scope on the 6 BrX to do a bolt head change and because of…[Read more]

Well I hope to be a little involved in Reese Bottom this year not necessarily as a shooter (I come up a little short in the barrel department lol) but more in the line of help not sure exactly what I can do but figure I can take some load off the people shooting. I won’t be there every match but with retirement just around the corner I plan on h…[Read more]

New here but have enjoyed the knowledge shared here. So now I have a question. I was doing a little research on the advantage of both FFP and SFP and read a statement that most BR and F Class shooter use SFP scopes. 1st. Let me say I have never shot BR or F Class so I have no experience on the matter. I understand the difference between FFP and…[Read more]

Little back ground my shooting center around specialty pistols
Mostly competing in IHMSA and some NRA handgun silhouette and for fun I like to see how far I can stretch it out. Mr Franklin and the people of Gabriel creek have allow me and one of my specialty pistols to shoot their 500 yrd…[Read more] -
